Scrapbook & Cards Today - BIG NEWS!

Hey everybody!  I have some BIG NEWS to share today.  Scrapbook & Cards Today has added a YouTube channel to its list of resources and yours truly will be creating how to videos throughout the year as part of their new "Create Today" video series.  I am SO stinkin' excited about this!

I created the very first video for the series using some brand new goodies from the Hip Hip Hooray collection by Pebbles and a sketch from the amazing Becky Fleck.  This sketch is actually one you will find in the soon to be released (on March 23rd!) CardMaps 2.  If you want to order a copy of this amazing special issue just click here.

Here's a peek at the card I created ...

And here's the video ...

Be sure to subscribe to the Scrapbook & Cards Today YouTube channel (SCTMagazine) so that you don't miss any videos and then head on over to the SCT blog - I hear there is a celebration going on and you know that means prizes, right?  ;)

Two Peas In A Bucket - Gardeners' Digest

Hey everybody!  Welcome to the February edition of the Gardeners' Digest.  The Garderners' Digest is simply a monthly update from the Garden Girls, the design team at Two Peas In A Bucket.  It's a place for us to share what we're currently working on, inspired by, using in our projects, etc.  A little diary of sorts for you to keep up with all of us on our personal blogs as well as over at Two Peas In A Bucket.

First, I wanted to share with you a little sneak peek of one of my Garden projects for the month of March.  This layout is just in the beginning stages so I can only show a tiny bit for now.  I'm using lots of the new American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection on this layout along with some of the Paper Heart collection from Crate Paper.  Definitely a softer color palette than I'm used to using, but I really love it.

I am so lucky to be on a team with such talented women.  I was completely inspired by this recent layout from fellow Garden Girl Wilna Furstenberg.  It is absolutely nothing like my style, but I think that's why it inspires me so much.  I love how colorful and free this design is, and how Wilna gathered her inspiration from other places.

Next I'd like to share a few recent purchases I've made from the shop at Two Peas.  With all of the new releases from CHA Winter the Two Peas shop has been hopping with new products arriving weekly.  And so has my wallet!  LOL!  So here are my five most recent purchases ...

  • Prima Typography Alpha Stickers (I am such a sucker for a good alpha sticker and the font, size, and variety of colors of these from Prima are just perfect.  These stickers are available in 6 different combinations for a total of 12 different colors.  And, yes, I did purchase all six.  LOL!)

  • Elle's Studio Die Cuts (I have added a BUNCH of these fabulous die cuts to my stash - they are perfect for adding journaling and bits of detail to your layouts)

In other scrappy news,  Two Peas In A Bucket is launching a new series of paid workshops on their website.  The first workshop in the series is with the uber talented Shimelle Laine and is called "The Hitchiker's Guide to Scrapbooking."  Here are the details ...

Are you drowning in a sea of scrapbook supplies and a plethora of photos, but wish things just came together easily? Then "The Hitchhiker's Guide to Scrapbooking" is just what you need: your guide to life, the universe and pretty paper! Join Garden Girl Shimelle Laine for this self-paced workshop you can use any time. Over five chapters, she'll share forty-two brand new scrapbook pages and easy-to-follow advice on choosing supplies, designing pages, embellishing your work and writing your memories. Each chapter includes a printable PDF and coordinating video, plus the guide's bonus reference section includes sketches, supply lists and other handy hints. Designed for scrapping at home or at a crop, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to Scrapbooking" reminds you: Don't Panic - get crafting!

The content of this workshop will be available immediately upon purchase. The lessons are available for you to work at your own pace and upon purchase can be accessed in the Workshops section under Classes & Events. A private message board forum is also available to ask questions for Shimelle and to connect with other participants. Enjoy!

Two Peas In A Bucket - let it snow

Hey everybody!  Just wanted to share a new layout that went up in the Garden over at Two Peas In A Bucket today.  The theme this month in the Garden is winter so I created this loved themed layout with some recent photos of youngest I snapped during our first (and only!) snow fall this winter.

This layout is copyright Two Peas in a Bucket

I used LOTS of the new Elle's Studio goodies you can now find in the shop on this layout. I am such a huge fan of these products - they really add a fun homespun touch that I just love. Plus they have a great matte finish which makes them perfect for printing on with your computer or stamping on with any type of ink (no smudges!). The papers are a mix of Crate Paper (Peppermint collection) and Pebbles (Fresh Goods collection) as well as stickers from Jillibean Soup and spray mist from Studio Calico.

For my title I placed the Jillibean Soup stickers on a circle tag from Elle's Studio replacing the "o" in "snow" with a brad from Crate Paper.  I layered some stickers along the bottom of the circle and added a rosette from Crate Paper as well for some dimension.

As I mentioned these tags from Elle's Studio have a great matte finish which make them perfect for adding stamping or computer journaling.  To add journaling to your tags as I did here simply print your journaling on paper, attach your tag to your paper over the area where your journaling is with temporary adhesive, and run the paper through your printer again.  Easy peasy!
